The multimedia classroom
The Università del Caffè headquarters are in Trieste, where illycaffè was first founded and is still based. The city is therefore well-established as the world centre of coffee culture. It is here that the Master’s degree in Coffee Economics and Science – Ernesto Illy is held, as are all the courses offered by the Università del Caffè, which often include a tour round the illy plant.
The Trieste headquarters are equipped with a multimedia lecture room with a maxi screen, Dolby Surround and computer stations: it is also where the lessons are held, and acts as a tasting laboratory and bar.

By train
From the Railway Station of Trieste downtown: from the railway station take the direction “downtown – Muggia”, continue straight beside the sea (which will be on your right), following the indication for Ferry – Slovenia. Take the bypass in the direction Venezia - Udine and then the third exit “zona industriale est”. Once arrived in the roundabout, go straight on the Strada della Rosandra, keeping on your left some car dealers. Turn right in the first street, Via dei Frigessi, through the level crossing and, once arrived in the intersection at the end of the street, turn right (at the give-way sign) in via Flavia. After approximately 150 meters you’ll find on your right the main entrance of illycaffè SpA.
By car
From highway A4 (Venezia – Trieste): after the last tollbooth (Lisert - Monfalcone), go ahead til the end of the highway (20 km). Continue straight in the route 202 (two lanes). After the first crossing, go straight following the indication Koper/Capodistria - Rabuiese. Take the first junction on your right (indication for Rabuiese - slovenian border, Slovenia, Koper/Capodistria and Zona Industriale) and continue on bypass. Take the first exit (indication: Strada della Rosandra, Zona industriale est). Once arrived in the roundabout, go straight on the Strada della Rosandra, keeping on your left some car dealers. Turn right in the first street, Via dei Frigessi, through the level crossing and, once arrived in the intersection at the end of the street, turn right (at the give-way sign) in via Flavia.
